Links
This probably needs to go into a new category all by itself so that Forum members can find it easily, but I think only adminstrators can create those (hint, hint ,Nick!), so I've put it in "News" for the time being.
I know Nick has a number of links from his website to other interesting sites but, good as they are, I'm sure they're not comprehensive in terms of everything that's covered by this Forum.
Over the course of the last six months I've seen a number of links go past in postings. However, experience has taught me that if you don't click on them immediately and then convert them into a Favourite, it can be extremely hard finding them again. My idea is therefore that links related to topics discussed on this Forum can be posted here: all that's needed is a hyperlink and a brief description of what can be found there.
So, please add the sites you think others should know about and, if you do refer to a site as part of a post elsewhere on the Forum, please take the trouble to add it here too.
Having just had a look in my Favourites folder, here's one to start the ball rolling: The MatchboxForum Auction.
I know nothing about this organisation and its affiliations, but they seem to hold regular auctions of just Lesney products, and personally I always enjoy drooling over the photographs of the pre-productions.
Good idea.
Here's another one I used in one of my posts on the Australian Matchboxes

A links section is a good idea we have one on another diecast Forum i am an Administrator on and i added Nick & Debbie's website as soon as it was seen on one of our posts and is also how i became a member here.
Here's another one: http://www.wagnerpoint.de/frankwagner/index.html
I posted this before (in the 7c topic) for the detailed analysis of Matchbox model lifetimes and replacement timings (see Download section). Obviously put togerther by an enthusiastic amateur collector, there's a lot of interesting stuff here, and it's not just all Matchbox/Lesney.
...and another: http://www.vintagediecasttoys.com/
This is a sales website belonging to 'Toy Boy' (aka Alan Wank) and is worth looking at if only for the pictures of the rarities on it. (The photograph of the 4c with No. 78 on the baseplate in the 76 - 80 topic came from Alan's website - with his permission I hasten to add.)
I've had limited dealings with him in the past and have no complaints (except for the prices - but, to be fair, some of this stuff is completely unobtainable anywhere else). However, it should be noted that other Forum members have been considerably less complimentary about him and that photographs of a dodgy-looking 39b which he was\said to have for sale have also been posted on this Forum.

I think Alan is a good guy and an excellent person with whom to do business. However, there were quite a few fakes of rare models in that last collection he bought. He has since pulled most of them. There are still a couple listed (last time I looked). What bothers me the most is that Alan is knowledgeable enough to have spotted all of these on his own. It is quite unsettling that others had to bring these fakes to his attention. I have no doubt that Alan would refund your money if you were unsatisfied with a purchase ... but unsuspecting collectors, that can't spot fakes (and tons of them are out there), could have easily been duped.
There are simply no safe places and no safe people from which one can buy rare vintage toys.
Hello all, it's Biggles
One dealer I have bought with confidence from is Trevor Bannister www.mokodinky.co.uk. I also like www.rockertron.com but unfortunately the prices are out of my range so I just look at the pics.
I received a PM asking me to add the link to the other Forum i mentioned in my last post and hope it is ok to post a link to another Forum here if its not please accept my apology and remove it.

Its a good forum to get tips on restoration and we also talk about all types of diecast.
Direct link to the Forum has changed to this link the one above goes to a website now so please use this new one if you want to visit the Forum.
Scotty.
At the risk of sounding like a snotty nosed schoolboy here but alan's name always raises a giggle as that word is not known in the Americal Language.
Good idea Hugh.
I have changed this post to a 'sticky' to make it easier to find.
If you like all things MOKO or Early Lesney toys then this is the ultimate site from Hans & Marco in Germany. No sales but just 2 nice guys wonderful collection that must be totally unique in the world today - a must browse site just to drool.
Thanks Jon, I thought I had added the link - love their site.
Yes Mick, I've never been on there before until yesterday. What a fantastic collection. Thanks for drawing my attention to it.
Jon
Found this site the other day: http://www.chat.diecastrescue.co.uk/. There looks to be a bit of overlap with the Forum.
idris that is the one i posted here that i am an Administrator on, when you say there is a bit of overlap with the forum are you talking about the recent posts pointing back to here?
I found this forum through Nick & Debbie's website and posted our forum in this links section and it looks like it could be helping both forums as i had not been here until one of our members posted links and i came back for a look.

Hello Scotty!
For everyone here, the standard of customs and restorations on vintage toys on Scotty´s forum is very high, and for all those endless supplies of beaters that we see for sale or even have stashed at home, there are many possibilities which many of us have never opened our eyes to yet, although tinman has made a good start here, the possibilities with old Dinkys and Corgis is greater because of their larger scale.
